Welcome to the world of dar germany. Let yourself be inspired and get to know and appreciate what makes us special.
German value creation with the character of a manufactory
The development, design and manufacture of our firearms takes place at our site in Fraureuth, Germany. Alongside production in our own state-of-the-art CNC machine park, a high degree of handcraft remains at the heart of our work.
Selected materials of the highest grade, perfectly finished
High-strength, cold-rolled aluminium, developed for the aerospace industry, forms the ideal basis for our technically demanding receiver parts and several other components. This aluminium ensures maximum rigidity under extreme thermal and mechanical loads.
Tenifer QPQ surface treatment
Tenifer QPQ salt-bath nitriding is an elaborate, chemical-physical hardening process for steel components. These parts are immersed in several salt solutions at defined temperatures and dwell times in a multi-stage process in order to increase the surface hardness. This also results in excellent wear resistance, significantly improves rigidity and gives the components a velvety black surface finish.
Bolt assembly
Every barrel of a dar hunting and sporting rifle has a locking sleeve permanently mated to the bolt head. Only producing these parts ourselves, in coordination with Lothar Walther, guarantees a bolt assembly tuned with the highest precision and with a minimal headspace.
Adjustable direct gas system
The most important component of the gas system of our AR-15 and AR-10 rifles is the front-adjustable gas port. The slim construction of the gas system is striking. The 16-click adjustment makes it possible to tune the rifle optimally and very precisely to the ammunition used. The gas volume can likewise be finely adjusted for the use of a suppressor or for an increased level of fouling.
Gas-deflecting charging handle
For better operation of the dar germany charging handle, the gripping surfaces have been significantly enlarged compared with the military standard. Even in winter, manual cycling with gloves is now no problem. Thanks to the use of high-strength aluminium, rigidity is also significantly improved over conventional models. The best feature, however, is the gas-deflection curve on the underside of the gripping surface, which serves to direct the gas off to the side.
Bolt bore in the upper
We devote particular attention to the bolt bore in the upper receiver during manufacture. The purpose of this elaborate procedure is to improve the tribological properties of the component. The particularly smooth surface reduces the friction of the mating parts and significantly increases the precision and reliability of the rifle.
A true continuous Picatinny rail
A feature of our hunting and sporting rifle concept is that the upper receiver has an interface that matches the handguard. By mounting the handguard directly on the upper receiver, all acting forces are carried not by the barrel but by the receiver. The result is a free-floating barrel and a true continuous Picatinny rail.
Integrated trigger guard in the lower
The dar Lower Advanced, the lower receiver, features an integrated trigger guard. Compared with lowers that have an open trigger guard, it is extended downwards and thus stabilises the component. Thanks to the generously sized trigger-guard area, operation with gloves is no problem.
Interaction of the receiver parts
The special quality of our products is shown by the flowing, play-free design of upper and lower. This construction enables a precise interaction of both parts with a focus on minimal tolerances. All edges and radii transition harmoniously into one another without steps or interruptions.
Ambidextrous bolt catch
The dar Lower Advanced has a second lever to release the bolt group on the right-hand side, above the magazine release. With the index finger the user can operate the trigger, change the magazine, close the bolt and engage the safety without taking the hand off the grip. All AR-15 and AR-10 hunting and sporting rifles from our production therefore come with genuine ambidextrous operation as standard.
Coloured ceramic coating
If you would like to give your firearm a particularly individual touch, a Cerakote ceramic coating is just the thing. We have many different colours and patterns to choose from, to best suit your taste and field of use.
Cerakote is a ceramic-based wet paint that is applied wafer-thin yet fully opaque. After the parts have been coated, the colour is baked on in the oven at a defined temperature. The coating is characterised by a flawless surface quality, high abrasion resistance and excellent resistance to environmental influences.
